The next Game of Thrones stop was at Ballintoy Harbour, where Theon Greyjoy arrived at Pyke Harbour. Our tour guide told us about the legend of Finn MacCool and his rival, Benandonner at the stop. Our next stop was at the Giant’s Causeway! The Unesco World Heritage Site is famous for it’s strangely shaped volcanic rock columns, set along a beautiful part of the coast. Our next stop along the way was a quick look at Carrick-a-Rede Ropebridge, which is a historic fishermen’s bridge suspended nearly 30m above sea-level. I took these photos driving from the caves to the next attraction. One of the things I love about Northern Ireland is how beautifully scenic it is going for a drive. The tour allows you a quick walk in to explore before moving on. The path followed into the caves, which was a lot smaller and lower than I anticipated. The first real Game of Thrones stop was the Cushendun caves, where Melisandre gave birth to the shadow assassin. We had stopped briefly for pictures and learnt that the castle was built more than 800 years ago, and was an important military structure, defending raids by Scots, Irish, English and the French.
